Hello my name is Penny and I am the dressmaker and owner of Dance and Drama Designs.

I have grown up with dress making around me; my mother was a dressmaker and took in alterations when I was small then progressed to opening her own wedding dress business which I helped with until getting married and starting my family.

I have been making costumes for my daughters and their friends for many years, starting with fancy dress then for various pantomimes and drama groups.
Then in the year 2000 I was approached by a stage school to make costumes for the whole school for their annual show making up to 500 costumes with ages ranging from 3 years to adults for tap, modern and ballet.

I have made costumes for St.Catherin's Panto Society, Pontliw Panto Society, Keith Millard's Moonbean Company, The Harry Sycome Youth Theatre, The Wiseman Stage School, Heaven Dance Academy and Rachel Smith School Of Dance, as well as various fancy dress costumes and evening dresses, but my passion is definitely the dance shows and one-off competition costumes.

In 2007 I decided to turn my passion into a business and set up Dance and Drama Designs and now have my own studio based in the centre of Swansea.

As well as designer made to measure costumes I can supply reasonably priced ready made dance costumes, fancy dress costumes, props and accessories and will discuss any costume hire needs.
